It's about an isolated girl named Mizutani Shizuku who happens to get a request to deliver homework/note to a delinquent student named Haru Yoshida. At first, Haru Yoshida thought negative of her being spy, but then he come to likes her. This make Mizutani misunderstood, and later confessed to Haru, which Haru refused or so he said his love is not that kind of way she loves him.
Besides Mizutani and Haru, there are also Natsume, Sasahara, Yamaken, and Oshima. Natsume who agree with Mizutani and Yoshida pairing, Sasahara who happens to tease around, Yamaken who have a crush on Mizutani at almost the end of the season, and Oshima who have crush on Haru. Even though, Mizutani and Haru are still love each other without being disturbed by anyone, and it actually make their love stronger.
This anime have a good romance and friendship story. To those who seeks explanation about such things, I suggest to watch this. This anime, manga also known as My Little Monster. In Japan, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun acutally means the monster sitting beside me. Because Haru is always having fight thus make it like a monster.
Want me to tell you why you can't break free of him? Because of the expectations you have. Because his words and actions fulfill some of your own hopes. That's why you can't break free. You want him to meet your expectations, but you never meet his.
